The Enforcement Division of the Belait District Office fined a local company BND1,000 for illegally disposing rubbish in a public area on July 1.
The company has already taken the initiative to settle the fine, the agency said in a statement.
It also said companies found guilty of the violation will face a fine of between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence, and between BND10,000 and BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months, or both, for subsequent offences. – Daniel Lim
