The Korean government is offering ‘2023 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Undergraduate Degrees’ to a Brunei national interested in furthering studies in South Korea.

The scholarship programme aims to provide higher education in South Korea for international students to promote international exchange in education, as well as mutual friendship among the participating countries.

Eighty-one students worldwide, including one successful Bruneian candidate (under the embassy track), will have the opportunity to study in South Korea under the 2023 GKS for Undergraduate Degree.

The quota for Bruneians is through the Korean Embassy’s selection for a degree programme and associate degree programme.

Applicants must choose their desired fields of study from the listed programmes in the University Information section provided by participating universities.

Applicants should meet the full requirements of the scholarship.

Completed application forms must be submitted to the Korean Embassy by October 10 by
hand only.

Documents such as proof of citizenship, certificate of graduation, academic transcript and proof of age (if other than IC and passport) must be apostilled by the Supreme Court before submission.

A general briefing on GKS application procedures for both graduate and undergraduate degrees for future applicants will be held on September 26 at 2pm at the embassy.
