A decorative fish breeding company from Japan showed interest in setting up operations in the country yesterday.
Director and Chairman Yoshida Shinichi from CYCLO Inc, known for producing nishikigoi (ornamental fish) as well as fish feed, paid a courtesy call to Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin recently and discussed establishment of nishikigoi breeding and fish feed production facilities.
The products would target markets on Borneo and the Middle East. Accompanying Yoshida were Director of Atami Brunei Nishikigoi Promotion Association Ikeda Shuichi, Tama Art University Professor Maruhashi Hirofumi, an investor Ohkawa Masaru and a representative from Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) Okouchi Hiroshi. – James Kon
