Knife-wielding attacker arrested quickly in Johor

KLUANG (ANN/THE STAR) – A 45-year-old man was detained for slashing the throat of a disabled individual in front of a convenience shop in Taman Kluang Barat.

Kluang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh reported that the incident took place at 1.50 pm on Sunday, June 30.

“The disabled man, aged 32, was promptly taken to Enche’ Besar Hajjah Kalsom Hospital for treatment,” he stated.

In a statement on Monday, July 1, ACP Bahrin mentioned that the suspect was apprehended the same day at 6.17 pm near a petrol station in Taman Bersatu.

He disclosed that the suspect admitted to assaulting the victim with a pocket knife.

“Background checks revealed that the suspect has a criminal record involving prior offences and drug-related issues. He also tested positive for morphine,” ACP Bahrin added.

The case is currently under investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm.
