The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at Surau Al-Hikmah, Penanjong Garrison, Tutong District in conjunction with the 40th National Day.
Forty participants who completed the recitation of the 30 Juzuk were celebrated. The ceremony was also participated by 10 suraus within military camps and conducted four times of Khatam Al-Quran, making 40 times of Khatam Al-Quran in total.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Takhtim followed by Tahlil and the recitation of Doa Khatam Al-Quran by Imam of Surau Al-Hikmah Afiq Abdul Halim bin Haji Daniel Alexender Iskandar Zulkarnain followed by Dikir Marhaban and concluded with a group photo.
Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin and the senior leadership and personnel of the ministry were present.
Permanent Secretary (Culture) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan and special representatives from external agencies also participated.
