The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday celebration at Surau Al-Faizun, Berakas Garrison yesterday.
Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir was in attendance.
Acting Commander of the RBAF Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif, permanent secretaries, service commanders and joint force commander, deputy permanent secretaries, as well as senior officers of the MinDef and RBAF were also present.
The event is a special pesambah presented to His Majesty as well as an expression of gratitude and prayers to Allah the Almighty for His Majesty’s good health and well-being.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Khatam Al-Quran and Takhtim followed by Doa Khatam, Dikir Marhaban and the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the participants.
