The WARGAMAS Association held a 77-times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday, in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday.
The ceremony at Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque, Jerudong, was attended by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
WARGAMAS President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don said 976 association members participated in the ceremony, and each participant completed recitations of 30 Juzuk Al-Quran.
Yesterday, the minister also launched a photobook of Khatam Al-Quran from 2019- 2022 to mark the fifth year anniversary of such ceremonies organised by the association. – Rokiah Mahmud
