The Kampong Batu Marang Mosque Takmir Committee held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjuction with the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Kampong Batu Marang Mosque on Thursday.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin was the guest of honour and personal representative of the Minister of Health.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses of Al-Quran led by Mosque Affairs Officer and Imam at the mosque in his capacity as the chairman of the mosque takmir committee Saiful Rizal bin Haji Abdul Ghafar. The ceremony concluded with a Dikir Marhaban.
Some 105 people participated in the Khatam Al-Quran comprising mosque officers, mosque takmir committee members, Muslimah Al-Ma’wa and its youth members, mosque congregants and Kampong Batu Marang residents.
It was the third event of its kind organised by the mosque to enliven the royal birthday celebrations.
