A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday for students who participated in the Cintai Al-Quran 2022 pgroramme. The programme focussed on Iqra and Al-Quran learning and was collaboratively organised by the RPN Kampong Panchor Village Consultative Council (MPK RPN Panchor) and Al-Huffaz Management.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by chairperson of the organising committee and Head of MPK RPN Panchor Religious Bureau Ramzi bin Haji Mohiddin followed by welcoming remarks. It was followed with a Khatam Al-Quran session and the presentation of certificates to the students.
The Cintai Al-Quran programme has been carried out since 2019 and serves as a platform for RPN Kampong Panchor residents, especially orphans and those from underprivileged families and recipients of assistance from the Community Development Department, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Ministry of Education to learn Iqra and Al-Quran without fees.
To date, some 50 students have participated in the programme with 30 having completed 30 juzuk recitation.
