Perseverance, consistency and prayers are keys to success for recipients during an award presentation ceremony for 128 excellent students and 43 teachers who received certificates of appreciation at the International Convention Centre yesterday.
In an interview with the Bulletin, an outstanding student with 5As at Primary School Assessment (PSR) examination at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, Mohammad Hafeez Qusyairi bin Haji Mustapa said, “Perseverance, performing daily prayers and supplicating more to Allah the Almighty helped me to achieve my success.” He is aspiring to become an army officer.
Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz bin Noor Nasran, one of the top students in Brunei Religious Education Higher Certificate exam (STPUB) exam, said consistency in studying is important, albeit only for a short period of time daily. “Wise time management is important in carrying out revision and other daily activities,” he added. He is planning to pursue higher education either in Egypt or Jordan taking the Islamic Syariah course.
Nurul Syakirah Arifah binti Roslan from Keriam Religious School said she obtained Grade 1 with Aggregate 5 in the Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU) exam. “Revising consistently everyday helped me achieve good grades,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Adaniy bin Rushdie, a student at St Andrew’s School, who obtained Grade 1 with Aggregate 5 in SSSRU exam, said, “Early preparation and revision are pre-requisites for success coupled with reading classwork on a daily basis and trying to understand the lesson.” His ambition is to become an aircraft pilot.
