Keeping senior citizens active

Sixty members from the Tutong District Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE Tutong) participated in Stay Active Day activities yesterday.

The annual event is part of the senior citizen’s health programme to raise awareness on health issues, including non-communicable diseases, ageing diseases and healthy lifestyle practice while promoting health services available.

It also aims to strengthen the healthy lifestyle practice among senior citizens and serves as an opportunity to get them involved in BN on the Move challenge.

Activities, such as ‘Finding Hidden Boarding Pass’ requiring each group to solve missions at five checkpoints, answer quizzes related to health and challenges such as ‘Pass the Ball’, ‘Build Up a Tower’ and ‘Guess What I Did?’ were also held.

The event was organised by the Senior Citizens Health Unit of the Health Promotion Centre, in collaboration with PKWE and assisted by Universiti Brunei Darussalam lecturers and students.
