Keeping promises a noble attribute, Imams say

Azlan Othman

Keeping promises is a noble attribute, while breaking them is an act of hypocrisy and a major sin, Imams said in yesterday’s Friday sermon.

Muslims are urged not to treat promises lightly or say Insya Allah as an excuse for not fulfilling commitments. Imams said living in the world will always require promises, including to worship Allah the Almighty and to follow Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) example, along with promises to others.

Every promise made will be queried and held accountable on Judgement Day, Imams said.
