Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar urged parents not to bring children under the age of 11 shopping, or attend gathering and events. He said this during yesterday’s press conference.
The National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme is awaiting the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine to begin vaccinating children aged five to 11.
Asked about the estimated arrival time for the Pfizer vaccine for children aged five to 11, the minister reiterated that Pfizer has promised the delivery of the vaccines by the first quarter of the year.
In response to rising COVID-19 numbers, the minister said it was expected, and cases will increase further.
“With the Omicron wave, cases will increase threefold as compared to Delta. Currently, the majority of the cases are of home clusters,” he said.
