Following the launch of the National Savings Day (NSD) 2024 Financial Awareness Roadshow in the Brunei-Muara District on June 7, over 430 students from government and private schools across the Belait District were treated to a fun-filled day of learning about financial concepts.
The roadshow, at the Sungai Tali Primary School yesterday, was the second in a series of roadshows co-organised by the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) and the Ministry of Education (MoE).
Royal Brunei Police Force, Employees Trust Fund (TAP), Balduri Bank, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, and Insurans Islam TAIB Family Takaful Sdn Bhd were among the agencies involved.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman attended as the guest of honour and was accompanied by senior officers from the MoE and BDCB.
Three more roadshows will be conducted as part of the NSD 2024 aimed at primary school students, particularly Years 3-5 students.
The next roadshow will be held at Rataie Primary School in Mukim Bokok, Temburong District tomorrow, followed by Tutong Sixth Form Centre on June 27 and Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre on July 3. The BDCB and MoE hope that the outreach initiative will teach students the age-appropriate financial management skills and knowledge.
A financial fun fair has also been planned at Jerudong Park Playground in August. – Daniel Lim
