Kasuka strengthen top spot with Shah United win

Kasuka Ar Rawda took full advantage of its senior players to defeat Shah United 4-2 to strengthen their position at the summit of the Brunei Elite Futsal League (BEFL) 2024-2025 tournament held at the Multi-purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last weekend.

The success of the Indonesian coach Wahyu Triayanto’s students helped deliver a flawless performance with a clean record of 10 matches without losses.

“The players managed to model a game that was quite effective. They put pressure on the opposing team and took advantage of the opportunities that were presented effectively to win a match.”

“Even though we conceded a goal, the players were able to rise up and change the pace of the match to be more effective,” explained Wahyu, who is a former Indonesian national futsal player.

He admitted that Shah United managed to provide stern competition but the tenacity of the defensive players and goalkeeper left the opposing team empty-handed.

Meanwhile, guest team from Singapore Kampung Buangkok FC showed an excellent performance with a double victory.

The squad pulled a surprise 5-3 win over Almerez HiTune FC, who is widely seen as the nearest challengers to reigning holders Kasuka Ar Rawda before thrashing DDT FC 7-2.

Kampung Buangkok’s success also helped replace Almerez HiTune in second place on 24 points, with the latter remaining on 21 points.
