Kasuka & Ar-Rawda put an end to GG-Indera SC’s unbeaten record in the Brunei Futsal League (BFL) 2023 following an impressive 4-1 victory at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Sports Complex in Jalan Tungku Link recently.

The meeting represents a test in match strategy for Md Zulfadli and Wahyu Triyanto, which succeeded to serve an entertaining match in search of dominance in the summit of the league.

Both teams displayed quality tactical play but it were Kasuka who went in front after their Iranian import Mohd Reza Rahmannia breached GG-Indera SC’s goal in the 11th minute with a fierce strike which had started from a free-kick.

GG-Indera SC were quick to respond with a flurry of attacks inspired by the combination of two main imports from neighbouring Sarawak Azri Dumin and Mohd Nurmansyah.

Both were busy attempting to unsettle the opposing defence but Kasuka goalkeeper Mohd Arib bin Haji Umar was excellent in shutting down their attacks.

Instead, Kasuka extended their lead through a firm strike from Mohammad Norazizam Roslan in the 14th minute to make it 2-0.

The match continued to be lively witnessing the strength of the Kasuka team but GG-Indera SC finally found a way through as Noor Raimy Karim netted in the 31st minute.

GG-Indera SC made several efforts to claw their way back into the match but trailed by two goals again when Muhammad Nur Bazali bin Besar scored for Kasuka in the 38th minute.

The game was done and dusted as Mohd Reza hammered a final nail in the coffin with his effort a minute from time.

Kasuka & Ar Rawda head coach Wahyu Triyanyo said, “GG-Indera SC possess good defence and made it quite difficult to break their defence. We were forced to change our gameplay which was effective in the end.”

He added that the match was quite interesting and tested the strength of both teams.

Meanwhile GG-Indera SC team manager Mohd Muizuddin Hamid praised the strong spirits of his charges for providing competition to Kasuka & Ar Rawda which boast vastly experienced local players and an Iranian import.

He continued, “We accept the defeat with an open heart after our players had provided full commitment throughout the match and also fuelled spirits to the players to progress even further in the upcoming matches.”
