Kampung Buangkok FC arrive in Brunei for friendly matches

Singapore-based futsal club Kampung Buangkok FC arrived in the Sultanate yesterday to take part in the upcoming exhibition matches against local sides Kasuka Ar Rawda and Almerez FC at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.

The Singaporean outfit continued their international tour series following their recent visit to Indonesia where they sparred with a local club there.

Buangkok FC Team Manager Luis Lim said, “After playing against Pendekar United in a friendly, one of the best clubs in Indonesia, the meeting against two of the best clubs in the Brunei Futsal League (BFL) will certainly help raise the quality and experience of Buangkok FC.”

He also conveyed his appreciation to the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) for providing the opportunity to play in an exhibition match to assist in enhancing the quality of play besides establishing a good relationship with the team.

Kampung Buangkok, which was formed in 2020, is one of the best futsal clubs in Singapore, and has Indonesian futsal star Bambang Bayu Saptaji, a national player and former Pendekar United player, in their ranks.

Kampung Buangkok will meet incumbent BFL leaders Kasuka Ar Rawda tomorrow, before providing a test to Almerez FC a day later.

Both matches are scheduled to start at 8pm. Supporters are welcomed to watch though entry is limited. – Fadhil Yunus
