Al-Muflihun Learning, in collaboration with the Al-Mashor Mosque Takmir Committee, organised a community service initiative titled ‘Program Nasi Goreng Kampung’ in Kampong Sungai Mau. The event, held in support of the Day of Action 2024 campaign, aimed to foster unity among local residents and volunteers.

The programme brought together 65 volunteers, including trainees and wardens from the Youth Development Centre, Mengalinga app users and Kampong Sungai Mau community members.

Among the activities was an ice-breaking session, where volunteers were divided into groups by the organising committee. Each group was tasked with preparing nasi goreng kampung using pre-selected ingredients, guided by committee members to ensure proper cooking techniques. The dishes were then judged based on taste and presentation.

Once prepared, 80 packets of nasi goreng kampung were distributed to Kampong Sungai Mau families by representatives from Al-Muflihun, the mosque takmir committee and the Youth Development Centre.

The programme concluded with a closing ceremony after Zohor prayers, where certificates of appreciation were presented to all volunteers by the founder of Al-Muflihun Awangku Abdul Qayum bin Pengiran Bakar. Acting Head of Youth and Sports Department, Belait Branch Gaung anak Jamit and Mosque Affairs Officer Imam Haji Akup bin Haji Lamat attended the event. – Fadley Faisal
