Kampong Mumong ‘A’ elects new village head

Some 59 residents from Kampong Mumong ‘A’ cast their vote in favour of 39-year-old Aminur bin Othman as their new village head. The sole candidate, Aminur is a BGCE ‘O’ Level graduate, working as a Tradesman Grade I at the Public Works Department at the Ministry of Development.

The vote count was supervised by Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, accompanied by Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann and Mohammad Haazeq bin Arsad from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA).

The voting started with the e-Undi PMKK app on November 15, with physical in-person voting held at the Kampong Pandan Community Hall yesterday.

Among the 59 votes cast, seven voted through the e-Undi PMKK app and 52 through physical in-person voting. Fifty voted in favour and nine against. No invalid votes were recorded.

Similar voting sessions will be held across Belait District, with Kampong Pandan ‘C’ slated to vote for their head from November 29 to December 1. – Daniel Lim
