Haji Hairol Mazlan bin Haji Razak, 55, with 113 votes, was the sole candidate eligible to fill the position of Kampong Benutan Village Head yesterday.
He is a Level 4 Imam at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and acting village head. A total of 113 out of 121 residents voted.
Six voted via e-Voting PMKK application on Friday, and 107 voted via paper during a voting and selection ceremony at Benutan Primary School yesterday. The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, led by Kampong Benutan Mosque Imam Haji Norsham bin Rosli.
Legislative Council member and Mukim Ukong Penghulu Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub; Acting Tutong District Officer cum event Chairman Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri; senior officers at the Ministry of Home Affairs; acting village heads of Mukim Rambai as well as residents were in attendance.
The results will be submitted to the Board of Appointments, Discipline and Procedures for Mukim Penghulu and Village Head at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
