(AP) – K-pop groups, including Stray Kids, Enhypen, and Ateez, claimed a significant presence in the US music market last year, with seven albums ranking among the top 10 in CD sales, according to the 2024 Year-End Music Report by Luminate, released on Wednesday.
Stray Kids led the K-pop wave with their album Ate, selling 442,000 copies and securing the second spot overall. The group’s follow-up release, Hop, also performed exceptionally well, ranking fifth with 248,000 units sold.
Enhypen’s Romance: Untold took the third position, with sales reaching 363,000 copies.
Ateez made a remarkable impact, landing two entries in the top 10. Golden Hour: Part. 1 and Golden Hour: Part. 2 ranked fourth and seventh, selling 250,000 and 225,000 copies, respectively.
Tomorrow by Together’s minisode 3: Tomorrow achieved sixth place with 240,000 copies sold, while TWICE’s With YOU-th secured ninth place.
Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department dominated the rankings, claiming the top spot with an impressive 1.51 million copies sold.
This marks the second consecutive year where K-pop albums have made seven entries into the US top 10 CD sales rankings.
In the broader overall sales category, which includes physical CD albums and digital album sales, Stray Kids and Enhypen secured spots in the top 10. Ate ranked sixth with 449,000 copies sold, while Romance: Untold placed eighth with 378,000 copies.
