JPA unveils two new counselling books

The Public Service Department (JPA) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Counselling Services Division launched two publications – Counselling Service Guidebook and Counselling Code of Ethics yesterday.

Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the PMO Ajman bin Haji Meludin was in attendance. JPA Acting Director-General Dr Norfarizal bin Othman said the Counselling Service Guidebook is an initiative of the JPA as a reference source for ministries, departments as well as civil servants. Meanwhile, the Counselling Code of Ethics is intended to guarantee welfare and the well-being of counsellor officers and clients to improve the quality of counselling services.

Dr Norfarizal added the publication of the Counseling Code of Ethics book also supports the Ministry of Health’s initiative through Brunei Darussalam Mental Health Action Plan 2022-2025, especially for Strategy 1 which is ‘Strengthening Effective Leadership and Governance for Mental Health by Creating a National Code of Ethics’. – Azlan Othman
