Simpang 92, Jalan Haji Halus, Kampong Perpindahan Bunut has been temporarily closed since last Thursday, said the Public Works Department (JKR), Ministry of Development.
It will be closed from 8am to 5pm until work on the road is completed.
The temporary closure is to enable repairs of an underground sewage pipe measuring 200 millimetres in diameter and 4.2 metres deep.
Road users are advised to use alternative roads. The department reminded road users to be cautious when passing the area and to comply with traffic signs and speed limits. Any concerns can be directed to the department via Darussalam Line 123, Livechat at 8333123 or e-mail to pro@pwd.gov.bn.
Meanwhile, JKR also issued a notice regarding the discoloured water in some areas of Brunei-Muara District.
It said due to the inconsistent quality of water sourced from the Tutong River, the treated water at Bukit Barun Water Treatment Plant has also been of unsatisfactory quality.
The department said it is working to address the issue to return the water supply to normal as soon as possible, with operations including increased onsite monitoring and additional chemical treatments.
The department requested the public to fill containers with clean water and owners of home water tanks and filters to ensure they are cleaned routinely through “flushing” and “backwashing”.
Those without water tanks or filters can contact the department.
For queries related to water supply, complete addresses should be included to allow JKR to conduct onsite assesments.
The department also reminded the public to boil clean water before consumption.
