(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – Jisoo of Blackpink is reportedly preparing to release new music as a solo artist next month, according to a local media report on Friday.
Her agency, Blissoo, neither confirmed nor denied the report, stating that they “could not confirm anything” at this time.
If true, this would mark her first solo project in nearly two years since the release of her debut single, ME. The single made history as the first release by a K-pop female soloist to sell over a million copies in its first week. Its lead track, Flower, dominated the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 57 regions and claimed first place on Korean television music shows nine times.
With just two tracks from ME, Jisoo surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify as of July last year—setting another record for a K-pop female soloist.
Meanwhile, Jisoo appeared publicly on Tuesday at a media conference for her upcoming drama Newtopia. The zombie apocalypse series is set to premiere next month.
