2005

ANN/THE KOREA HERALD – Jimin of BTS achieved a significant milestone last week as his solo single Like Crazy earned double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking the first time a K-pop solo artiste has reached this achievement, which Jimin accomplished in just 518 days.

Like Crazy fronted his first solo album Face which was released in March 2023. It debuted atop Billboard’s Hot 100 – the first-ever K-pop solo song to do so – and made him the first K-pop solo singer to claim the top spot on its Artist 100 chart.

The song also has topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in all 119 regions.

Meanwhile, he logged 500,000 units sold in the United States with Who, the main track from his second solo EP Muse, last week and earned a gold certification from the organisation in the shortest time for a K-pop solo song.
