ANN/THE STAR – Police have arrested a 28-year-old man after a high-speed chase in Johor Baru (JB), Malaysia.
JB South OCPD Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the incident occurred at 6pm on Friday when a patrol team saw a car driven in a suspicious manner.
ACP Raub said the patrol team then requested for three more MPVs as backup to chase after the suspect.
“The chase ended at Taman Damansara Alif, where a man was arrested and another managed to escape. Investigations revealed that the duo had run away from the police as they were under the influence of drugs and afraid of being caught,” he said, adding that the suspect had tested positive for methamphetamine.
A background check revealed that the suspect also has two prior records involving drugs and crime, he added.
