Members of the Japan School Trip Bureau (JSTB) and selected Japanese travel agents concluded an educational familiarisation trip (famtrip) to Brunei Darussalam last week with a networking session and post-mortem meeting alongside Brunei travel agents, said the Tourism Development Department in a statement yesterday.
The famtrip from February 12 to 16 was co-organised by the Tourism Development Department and the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Japan, in collaboration with the ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC).
During the four-day programme in Brunei, the delegation visited tourist landmarks, historical sites and educational institutions including the Institute Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
The visit provided the group with a chance to explore ecotourism and cultural sites and a hands-on learning experience. The participants also engaged directly with the rich heritage and unique attractions of the region. The briefings offered by IBTE and UBD provided insights into the potential educational programmes available to Japanese students at these institutions.
