Japanese proficiency test winner happy on passing at first try

Muhammad Mawardi bin Murasedi who was the only person to pass the N2 level in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), said he was happy as he passed the test in his first try.

“In my N3 level test, I failed in the first attempt and then managed to pass in my second try,” he said. Twenty seven individuals who passed the JLPT received their certificates at a ceremony at the Japanese Ambassador’s official residence yesterday. Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru presented the certificates. The ambassador acknowledged that learning Japanese language is not an easy task. Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Dr Chin Wei Keh was the guest of honour.

Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, and members of the diplomatic corps were also present.  – James Kon
