Japanese naval personnel host reception, beach clean-up

Commander of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Training Squadron Rear Admiral Nishiyama Takahiro and Chargé d’Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Suda Atsushi recently hosted an onboard reception on the JS Kashima ship.

The event saw 200 guests, including Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin as the guest of honour.

Meanwhile, JS Kashima and JS Shimakaze personnel and Japan-related associations in the Sultanate joined a beach cleaning event at Muara Beach. Six medical staff from the JMSDF visited the Medical Reception Station (MRS) and some officers from the 74th General Officer Candidate Course visited the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Museum and attended an RBAF anniversary celebration at Penanjong Garrison, joined by Nishiyama, Captain Hiroaki Tanaka and two commanding officers from both naval ships.

After leaving Muara Port, JS Kashima and JS Shimakaze will visit Victoria, Seychelles.
