The Lifelong Learning Centre of the Ministry of Education, the Language Centre of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam will co-organise the 34th Japanese Speech contest at the embassy on April 12 at 9am.
The contest is divided into two categories: speech and group presentation.
The speech category is split into beginner and advanced sub-categories.
The beginner category is for those who have studied the Japanese language for less than two years, while the advanced category is for those who have studied the language for over two years but have not lived in Japan for more than a total of two years since the age of six.
The winner of the advanced category will be invited to Japan in October.
Contestants are free to choose their titles and subjects but should avoid political, religious and potentially controversial topics.
