For the past week, the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) has conducted several conversion ceremonies, with the centre recording 31 new converts throughout last month.
The latest to convert is an Iban woman, Levenna Mariem anak Levin Juna who embraced the Islamic faith at Kampong Batu Marang Mosque.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Isa bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin was the guest of honour.
PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh was also present.
Levenna Mariem anak Levin Juna recited the Syahadah in front of officers from the Dakwah Propagation Division, PDI.
The 20-year-old has chosen Nur Levenna Mariem binti Abdullah Levin Juna as her Muslim name. She received a souvenir from the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, another Iban woman, Lewany anak Jelidi embraced Islam at a ceremony at Darul Huda, PDI yesterday.
The 19-year-old is now known as Nur Lewani binti Jelidi.
Nur Lewani recited the Syahadah witnessed by Pengiran Norhayati binti Pengiran Haji Kasharan, who led PDI’s Tabligh and Dakwah officers.
