Jalinan Kasih project reaches out to 20

James Kon

Radio Television Brunei (RTB) through the Radio Programme Division ran its 14th Jalinan Kasih project, reaching out to families in need of assistance. The project, held as part of its corporate social responsibility, supports the government aspiration of creating a better life for the less fortunate and those in need.

This year, daily necessities and cash were provided to 20 recipients, five per each district. Recipients comprised orphans, senior citizens, individuals with different abilities, new converts as well as less fortunate individuals

Hamitan Group Brunei, TGT Sdn Bhd, Bahagia Distributors Sdn Bhd, BMC Food Industries Sdn Bhd, German Shop Brunei and Sim Kim Huat Department Store were the six local companies that stepped forward as sponsors.

The project’s implementation is in tandem with RTB’s slogan Sentiasa Bersama Biskita, which extends beyond radio and television, to face-to-face level with communities across all districts.

In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Jalinan Kasih project team has taken precautionary measures in the form of ensuring physical distancing, limiting the number of working committee members and shortening the duration for the hand over of donations.
