SEOUL – K-pop sensation Ive and renowned DJ-producer David Guetta have launched their new single, Supernova Love, marking the debut of “The Collab X,” a collaborative project spearheaded by KDM Records aimed at forging global K-pop partnerships.
Blending the vibrant energy of K-pop with Guetta’s signature electronic beats, Supernova Love serves as the perfect starting point for the ambitious project that seeks to merge K-pop with international music. The track takes a creative turn by sampling Ryuichi Sakamoto’s iconic piece Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, infusing it with nostalgia and giving listeners a fresh sonic experience.
David Guetta described the single as “a global anthem celebrating love and beauty across cultures.” He added, “Working with Ive has been an incredible experience. K-pop is such a unique and innovative genre, and bringing our musical worlds together has been truly inspiring.”

The driving force behind The Collab X is producer Kim Daniel, known as Godboy, who has previously led cross-cultural music initiatives, including partnerships featuring Ateez and Don Diablo, and (G)I-DLE with DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. His leadership in producing and composing Supernova Love underscores the project’s mission of bridging East and West through diverse musical pairings.
Music critic Kim Do-heon highlighted the strategic advantage of these collaborations, noting, “K-pop artists have a dedicated fanbase, and since EDM tracks are not heavily influenced by vocals, DJs can leverage K-pop fans to significantly boost the promotion and popularity of their singles. For K-pop artists, collaborating with global musicians can be advantageous, even if EDM isn’t currently mainstream.”
