I am writing to raise an ongoing concern regarding the BruHealth app and its failure to reflect accurate appointment information in a timely manner.
Recently, I experienced yet another case where my hospital appointment – clearly listed on the BruHealth app – had been changed by the hospital. Although I received an SMS notifying me of the new date, the app itself continued to show the original appointment schedule.
Naturally, I trusted the information displayed on the BruHealth app and showed up on the wrong day, resulting in inconvenience and wasted time. This is not the first time it has happened. There have been several occasions where appointment changes were not reflected in the app, and I only found out through separate messages or when I contacted the hospital directly.
This inconsistency is not only frustrating but defeats the purpose of having a centralised health management system.
The BruHealth app is promoted as a one-stop platform to streamline healthcare matters, including appointment tracking.
However, if changes made by healthcare providers are not automatically and promptly updated in the app, it creates confusion and undermines patient confidence in the system.
Many of us rely on the BruHealth app as the main source of truth for our medical appointments – having to cross-check with SMS or manually confirm with clinics should not be necessary.
I urge the authorities to look into this and improve the integration between the hospital’s internal systems and the BruHealth app. Accuracy and consistency in healthcare communication are essential.
