Celebrations for Israk Mikraj continued in the country as communities and organisations held religious ceremonies to mark Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) historic journey and ascension, yesterday.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held ceremonies to mark Israk Mikraj throughout all suraus in RBAF camps, bases and garrisons.
The main focus of the event was at Surau Ad-Difa’ in Bolkiah Garrison. Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd Kadir was the guest of honour.
RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, permanent secretaries, senior leadership and staff were also present. In addition to prayers marking the event, a special talk on ‘Bersabar, Berikhtiar, Bertawakkal dan Berdoa Menghadapi Ujian: Sembahyang Meraih Redha Allah’ was delivered by Haji Badaruddin bin Haji Basar from the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
On Monday, Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque and the Mukim Kota Batu Consultative Council organised a religious lecture to commemorate Israk Mikraj.
The lecture was delivered by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s Head of Corporate Communications Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat was the guest of honour.
Also on Monday, 463 students of Taman Asuhan Kanak-Kanak (TASKA) Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) celebrated Israk Mikraj at the school with a religious ceremony and a storytelling session of the journey of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). TASKA YSHHB’s acting principal Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi was present.
