Israk Mikraj celebration tomorrow

Brunei Darussalam will celebrate Israk Mikraj for 1443 Hijrah at the national level, themed SembahyangKu Kerana Allah tomorrow starting 10am at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.

The event will feature the reading of Al-Quran and its interpretation as well as a religious talk.

The ceremony will be jointly conducted by the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), Ministry of Education (MoE), Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).

Attendees are required to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines such as scanning BruHealth QR code; have green or yellow code; undergo antigen rapid test (ART) screening; ablution at home; wear face masks; bring own prayer mats; body temperature checks; sanitise hands; and practise physical distancing.

Individuals showing flu-like symptoms and children under the age of 12 are not allowed to attend the event.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar and Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim were present yesterday to oversee the preparations.
