Nothing can better prepare oneself for future opportunities and challenges than a person with deeply rooted Islamic faith and value. One should uphold the teachings of Islam, especially in respect for human dignity, mercy, peace and tolerance.
This was said by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pengiran Datin Shazainah binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Shariffuddin during a certificate presentation ceremony for 60 Jerudong International School (JIS) Religious School students who passed Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU) examination 2021 for Primary 6 yesterday.
The permanent secretary, as the guest of honour, presented the certificates at the event held at JIS Art Centre Auditorium. Pengiran Datin Shazainah also advised the students to observe daily obligatory prayers and recite Al-Quran regularly. “They should also enrich their knowledge of Islamic principles as well as look after their mental and physical health by maintaining a balance in work, study or play,” she said.
“In your journey of life, you will discover that you will constantly face difficult challenges such as negative impact of globalisation, economic insecurity, threats to the environment, pandemic outbreaks and even hard time distinguishing fake and true information – all these trials and tribulations will affect you personally,” she said. To succeed in studies and professional careers, the students were urged to be prepared to make wise choices.
For the SSSRU 2021, JIS Religious School recorded 98.3 per cent passing rate where 49 students obtained Grade 1, eight students obtained Grade 2 and three students got Grade 3.
