    Interschool basketball tournament champion crowned

The BBA Select team emerged as champion of the second Aewon PPE Interschool Basketball Tournament after defeating ISB 103-89 in the boy’s under-18 final on Saturday night.

Colin Kyle Santiago had an MVP performance with 36 points for BBA Select while his teammate Chris Angelo contributed 17 points. Meanwhile, third place went to JIS.

“We have a bunch of good players who listen to instructions and execute. They know that next year they might not have the chance to play again in this tournament so they all were really hungry to win,” BBA Select coach Pong Teck Seng said in an interview. He added, “We didn’t have an easy road. We met ISB twice at grouping and won with a last-second buzzer beater. In the semi-final, we came back from being 13 points down in the third quarter. Those games made the team more confident.”

In the girls category, ISB defeated JIS 55-47 in the final, while third place went to team Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College.
