International accreditation for UTB School of Business

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) School of Business achieved a significant milestone by securing international accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) on Tuesday.

UTB School of Business establishes itself as a world-class institution, reaffirming its commitment to providing exceptional business education, fostering a culture of academic excellence and preparing its graduates to make a meaningful impact in the corporate world.

EFMD, a renowned international organisation that evaluates and accredits business schools and programmes worldwide, conducted a thorough assessment of UTB School of Business programmes.

These include Bachelor of Business (Hons) with all six majors, as well as its Master of Science in Management and Technology programme.

The accreditation process involved a comprehensive review of the school’s academic offerings, faculty qualifications, research output, and overall teaching and learning methodologies.

A peer review team, comprising individuals from academia and the industry, played a pivotal role in this evaluation.

Visiting UTB School of Business from February 28 to March 2 this year, the peer review team scrutinised the programmes against rigorous standards, ensuring quality and relevance.

Following an evaluation, UTB School of Business emerged triumphant, meeting EFMD’s criteria across various dimensions. Dean of UTB School of Business Dr Fadzliwati binti Mohiddin, expressed joy upon achieving the milestone.

She said, “As we reflect on the journey of UTB School of Business since its establishment in 2013, we take pride in the progress we have made.

“Our academic offerings, institution, partnerships, and infrastructure have experienced significant growth.”

She added that the accreditation will empower them to provide an exceptional educational experience to the Nation’s aspiring leaders.

Dr Fadzliwati emphasised that the EFMD accreditation benefits all stakeholders, enhances the reputation of UTB School of Business and instils confidence in prospective students.

She added that the recognition paves the way for expanded strategic collaborations with globally renowned institutions, fostering partnerships, facilitating faculty exchanges, and nurturing research collaborations.
