The training programme ‘Strategic Conflict Management for Professionals’ hosted by Brunei Darussalam Arbitration Centre (BDAC) with Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) concluded on Friday with a closing ceremony at BDAC in Jalan Kumbang Pasang.

The five-day interactive training programme saw 24 participants from the government and private sector as well as individuals.

It taught the application of interest-based conflict management in mediation; identify the stages of mediation; apply communication tools and techniques to manage parties; use techniques to overcome impasses, and to simulate relevant case studies for participants to practice their skills.

Meanwhile, the ‘Mediation Skills Assessment’ was held yesterday and the participants will be internationally recognised as accredited mediator and will automatically join the BDAC list of mediators.

The BDAC Interim Chief Executive Officer and the SMC trainers congratulated and presented certificates to the participants for completing the training programme.
