Ministry of Defence ‘B’ emerged champions of the Inter-Ministry Badminton Championship in conjunction with the 30th Civil Service Day at Chung Hwa School Kiudang Hall in Tutong yesterday.
The newly-crowned winners brought back the Championship trophy contributed by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah.
Ministry of Development ‘A’ was placed second, while Prime Minister’s Office ‘B’ and Ministry of Health ‘A’ finished joint third. Meanwhile, Ministry of Religious Affairs ‘B’ won the Tier B category.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof presented the prizes.
The tournament, aimed to strengthen ties, instil unity and encourage a healthy lifestyle among civil servants, saw 19 teams contesting in five categories. – Fadhil Yunus
