Intending pilgrims attend pre-departure briefing

Some 746 intending haj pilgrims under Darussalam Services Sendirian Berhad (DSSB) attended a pre-departure briefing at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas yesterday.

The briefing focussed on what is to be expected for the intending haj pilgrims before departing Brunei for Saudi Arabia, during the month-long season as well as to prepare their haj knowledge, before departure and during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

The briefing also included DSSB’s logistics and management, as well as what pilgrims can expect while in Madinah and Makkah.

Darussalam Holdings Sendirian Berhad (DHSB) Managing Director Haji Mahmud bin Haji Mohamed, as head of delegation, delivered his remarks, followed by a religious lecture on haj by Mosque Affairs Officer of Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sallehuddin.

Assistant General Manager of Haj and Umrah Department of DSSH Pengiran Haji Ibraim bin Pengiran Haji Bakar and appointed religious officer of DSSB Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Rahman also delivered a briefing, followed with a question-and-answer session.

For this year’s haj season, the Sultanate will have four flights for the intending haj pilgrims.

The first flight has been scheduled to depart from Bandar Seri Begawan to Madinah on June 4, the second on June 5, the third on June 6 and the fourth on June 7. Advanced check-in will be carried out a day prior to departure.

To ensure smooth running as well as preparations for the journey, four DSSB officials including the managing director will depart for Saudi Arabia tomorrow to ensure operations are working as intended prior to the intending haj pilgrims’ arrival.

Meanwhile, haj operator Al-Hijrah Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd held a briefing for intending haj pilgrims on their preparations prior to their departure for Saudi Arabia.

Al-Hijrah Travel and Tours Managing Director Haji Shamsul Baharin bin Haji Abdul Rahman delivered the briefing, while Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam delivered the appreciation of Haj rituals.

For this year, some 52 intending haj pilgrims along with three officers from Al-Hijrah Travel and Tours will depart for Saudi Arabia on June 4.
