Haj and umrah course teachers and instructors play a pivotal role in imparting knowledge to intending pilgrims. Their responsibility lies in ensuring a thorough understanding, enabling pilgrims to perform their sacred journey in an orderly and precise manner in the holy land.
This was stated by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim during a certificate and resolution presentation ceremony for haj and umrah instructors.
The permanent secretary also urged all haj course instructors to focus on conveying crucial details, particularly emphasising on the importance of providing real-time information and updates, especially for first-time pilgrims.
He also stressed the need for instructors to offer insights into accommodation facilities and services in Arafah and Mina, comparing them with those in Makkah and Madinah.
He emphasised that performing haj requires sacrifice, mental endurance, physical and spiritual strength, patience, and readiness to overcome challenges.
Highlighting the financial and personal sacrifices involved when performing the haj, the permanent secretary underscored the necessity for prospective pilgrims to acquire a deep understanding of Haj Manasik (guidelines) to execute the pilgrimage flawlessly.
Meanwhile, the Director of Haj Management Office for Administration Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohammad touched upon the laws related to men’s and women’s Haj Manasik, Jama’ah prayers, Friday prayers, and presented working papers during the course.
The course, attended by 122 participants, included haj and umrah course instructors, appointed course supervisors, teachers from religious and secondary schools, new Muslim Converts (Muallaf), mosque officials, and haj and umrah guides. The dialogue aimed to coordinate laws related to haj, umrah, and pilgrimage, enhance knowledge of Haj Manasik, and provide information on the current situation in the holy land, especially in Arafah and Mina. – Azlan Othman
