The world of entrepreneurship is one pursuit that not only generates an income for the family as well as the country, but also allows a person to become self-sufficient.

This was said by Co-Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the Basic Mu’amalat and Entrepreneurship Course Dr Hajah Lilly Suzana binti Haji Shamsu during the event’s closing ceremony at Ta’lim Hall of KUPU SB recently.

She said the course was hoped to provide a networking platform for participants via visits to agriculture and fishery sites, project presentations, and sharing session with successful entrepreneurs.

Briefings and visits during the course provided inspiration and perspective on entrepreneurship and allowed the participants to identify their competency prior to venturing into the business world, she added.

The ceremony also saw a speech by one of the participants, Mohammad Alwendy bin Mohammad Fadillah, alumnus of Al-Azhar University Brunei Darussalam.

The event continued with the presentation of certificates to 34 participants and facilitators by Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal.

The six-day course was held from December 14 to 19 to educate participants on the basic elements in the culture of entrepreneurship as well as mu’amalat and its importance in generating income.

The course also aimed to expose participants to entrepreneurship programmes by the government and private sector.
