The Information Literacy Programme for Belait District youth came to a close on Thursday with a certificate presentation ceremony.
The programme, organised by the Information Department of the Prime Minister’s Office, was attended by 45 participants from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education’s (IBTE) Jefri Bolkiah Campus in Kuala Belait and the Sultan Bolkiah Campus in Seria.
Deputy Director of Information Sastra Sarini binti Haji Julaini presented the certificates.
The programme saw a career talk on Royal Brunei Airlines and its job opportunities and a briefing on ‘Procedures for Using PSCR 2.0’ conducted by the Public Service Commission, an online portal for job seekers in the government sector.
The participants also visited the Makmur Lantern Gallery of the Information Department and toured Pelita Brunei, the official newspaper first published on February 15, 1956, to convey information about the country’s development plans and goals, government policies related to the lives of the public, important announcements and any changes related to the interests of the country and the public.
The programme is one of the initiatives by the department, utilising a whole-of-nation and whole-of-government approach and to foster a sense of responsibility to realise Brunei Vision 2035. – Azlan Othman
