The Information Department held a Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Tutong yesterday to mark the department’s 72nd anniversary of its establishment.
Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos was the guest of honour.
Mosque Affairs Officer at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Mosque Mohamad Adham bin Hashim led the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil.
For 72 years, the government agency has been implementing initiatives to ensure prompt delivery of news, programmes, publications and other media services in the Sultanate. – Azlan Othman
