Indonesian students visit local Arabic learning institutions

A delegation from Universiti Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA) recently visited Arabic schools in the country as part of an academic collaboration with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).

Three students from the Indonesian institution, led by UINSA lecturer Dr Muflihah arrived last Wednesday to visit and observe several Arabic language learning centres in the country.

The delegation visited Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School on August 17 and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School on August 19.

During the visits, the delegation was briefed on administrative and academic affairs.

Various scientific activities were also demonstrated to the visiting students and lecturer.

The visit hoped to strengthen academic collaboration between the educational institutions and broaden the group’s knowledge about the culture, customs and way of life in the country.

The visit was also part of the memorandum of agreement between UNISSA and UINSA signed on May 3 to cooperate in improving the quality of teaching and learning Arabic. – Azlan Othman
