The Wonderful Indonesia Expo 2025 (WIE 2025) kicked off at the 30th Consumer Fair and Trade Expo at the International Convention Centre, Berakas on Wednesday, with Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Dr Achmad Ubaedillah raising the curtains for the expo.
Organised by the Indonesian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, the expo saw 22 exhibitors from Indonesia, showcasing food and beverage products, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, modest fashion, leather products, handicraft and floating buildings.
Representatives of the Indonesia Business Chamber (IBC) and the Indonesian Community Association (Permai), Indonesia Chef Association (ICA) and Indonesian Muslimah Entrepreneurs Association (IPEMI) were also present.
Indonesia and Brunei bilateral trade volume from 2018 through 2022 increased continuously, from only USD133.7 million to USD897.3 million, before decreasing in 2023.
Last year, the figure was expected to increase again with the current data shows that the trade value between Indonesia and Brunei until November 2024 reached USD629.0 million.
