The Ministry of Defence on Tuesday received an official visit from Minister of Defence, Republic of Indonesia Lieutenant General TNI (Purn.) Dr. Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.
This is the minister’s first visit to Brunei Darussalam since assuming the appointment as the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof welcomed the minister at Bolkiah Garrison, where received a General Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour comprising personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF).
Lieutenant General TNI (Purn.) Dr. Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin then called on the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II.
During the call, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the strong and expanding defence and military relations between the two nations, emphasised the importance of maintaining and enhancing strong bilateral cooperation.
