A contingent comprising 69 muslimah from Yayasan Kejayaan Muallaf Indonesia of Dewan Taklim Muallaf Kalimantan Barat led by their head H Muhammad Damanhuri, visited the Tutong District to learn about its culture and history.
Speaking to the Bulletin, Muhammad Damanhuri said the visit aimed to establish closer relation among the new converts.
“This visit is an opportunity for us to convey and guide new converts in embracing the Islamic faith,” he said.
Among the activities included visits to Seri Kenangan Beach and a resort built from containers owned by Khairul Salleh bin Haji Kamaluddin, during which, the contingent learnt about Brunei Malay confectionaries such as kusui, seri muka and wajid.
The contingent also visited Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong, the Brunei Islamic Da’wah Centre, the Malay Technology Museum, and the Royal Regalia Museum. – Daniel Lim
